  1. Thanks Daryl for another great post. As Helene Nissen-Lie observed, professional self-doubt is a great starting point for improving. I suspect the competency that you refer to here is probably born of familiarity rather than real expertise. It would have been true for me anyway. I also experience a lot of “but I’m different (aka special) so that thing about outcomes not improving might apply to others but not to me” from therapists? Maybe you do too.
