Two Things to kickoff 2024:
- A new podcast interview on Clearer Thinking called There are shrinks, and then there are SUPER-shrinks.
I just got word that this interview with Spencer Greenberg just got published yesterday. Spencer’s a whiz in math and machine learning, and an all-round highly intelligent person.
I was really looking forward to speaking with Spencer. He’s the founder and CEO of Spark Wave, a psychological research organisation and startup foundry (a.k.a. company builder/startup studio) that creates new products from scratch designed to help solve problems in the world.
I first learned about Spencer Greenberg about a year ago, when he was interviewed on the You Are Not So Smart podcast with David McRaney. Consequently, I learned that he built a stellar website called Clearer Thinking, which offers numerous free tools for helping you make better decisions and reduce biases. You should check it out.
Here’s a sample of wide-ranging topics Spencer and I covered ( available):- What is a “supershrink”?
- Which factors in the therapist-client relationship are most predictive of positive client outcomes over time: the therapist’s personality, the client’s personality, the therapist’s methodology, or other factor(s)?
- How can therapists use and teach evidence-based practices and behaviors while also respecting and working within an individual client’s belief system?
- What should clients look for when ‘shopping’ for therapists?
- Why do clients often choose to be less open and honest with their therapists than would be beneficial for them?
- How can non-therapists be good, therapeutic friends to others?
Hat tip to Jeremy Stevenson and Josh Castle.
- Deep Learner is Now Open
Out of all the courses, Deep Learner is one the most important (and most taken for granted).
Many books were written on the topic on learning.
Why?
To learn well is one of the essential skills to cultivate.
Gobbling down information is not really learning. And to become a deep learner, one has to conceive and utilise a reliable system, a Personalised Learning System (PLS), that puts you on a feedback loop that grows you, nurtures you, and ultimately translate into helping others in your clinical practice.
The PLS system looks like this:
The overview of the course looks like this:
As soon as you begin, you’d be “dripped” into your inbox one key idea at a time, every 3 days. Plus, you can revisit the materials whenever; you’d have LIFETIME access. The ideas in here are extensive and goes in-depth, which is why the course is designed in this fashion.
Feel free to check out some preview modules.
The doors are now open for registration.
