This is part IV of the 10 years in writing for Frontiers of Psychotherapist Development (FPD), helping practitioners move toward at their bleeding edge. We dig into the archives, as well as commemorate the 6th anniversary of the book, The First Kiss: Undoing the Intake Model… with a special new bonus material.

1. ADHD Series

I did a whole six-part series on this topic of ADHD. Because of the proliferation of TikTok and Instagram advice, I think it’s getting out of hand. This also has a backfire effect on folks who would really benefit from such a diagnosis.
Nick Haslam’s idea of “Concept Creep” is applicable here. (See Part I)

5. Undoing the Intake Model in Psychotherapy

This is an except from the book. I’ve also made available more preview chapters than on Amazon in my website (see here).
NEW BONUS ANNIVERSARY GIFT:
For those of you who have bought the book, I’m giving you a special folder that you can add to a wicked (and free) note-taking app called Obsidian
In this folder, it is the ENTIRE book, along with its bi-directional links within each chapters, creating a network system of the book.

Once you got the book into Obsidian, you can also see the Graph view in the app.

If you are new to Obsidian, you can watch a series of 6 videos I did on using this free software to create my Personalised Learning System (PLS).

YouTube

I believe one of the most critical things you can do is to create a personalised learning system (PLS). Though the payoff is not immediate, but like growing a seed, the benefit is tremendous, especially if you value personal and professional development.

Instructions on How to retrieve this added bonus:
i. If you bought the book: Go to the back of the book, My Gift to You, and go to the URL. The sub-folder in dropbox is called, First Kiss Book in Obsidian.
ii. How to add the book into Obsidian: After you have downloaded Obsidian, simply click File/Open Vault, and select the folder First Kiss Books in Obsidian.

iii. If you can’t find it, drop us an email at admin@darylchow.com
