{"id":1168,"date":"2019-11-15T12:00:51","date_gmt":"2019-11-15T12:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/darylchow.com\/fullcircles\/?p=1168"},"modified":"2019-11-16T04:46:20","modified_gmt":"2019-11-16T04:46:20","slug":"recalculating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/darylchow.com\/fullcircles\/recalculating\/","title":{"rendered":"Recalculating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Book Antiqua', Palatino;\">Jewish Buddisht teacher Sylvia Boorstein said, <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Book Antiqua', Palatino;\">&#8220;The GPS never gets mad at me&#8230; It just says, &#8216;<em>recalculating<\/em>.&#8217; No matter how many times I don&#8217;t make that turn, the tone of the voice stays the same.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Book Antiqua', Palatino;\">Instead of being rigid and demanding of what we expect of life, perhaps our approach to parenting, relationships, and work should be have an improvisational quality of recalculating, recalibrating, or re-routing, and being openly responsive to what life presents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Book Antiqua', Palatino;\">The real challenge perhaps is how to stay unfrazzled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Book Antiqua', Palatino;\">Here lies a paradox: while we hold steady to pursue or goals and maintain our focus, we must continually<strong> let our expectations die<\/strong>. When we learn to let go of our demands of life, then maybe we can encounter life; the opening to live.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Book Antiqua', Palatino;\">Daily, we must recalculate.
