It\u2019s called the&nbsp;<strong>Taxonomy of Deliberate Practice Activities (TDPA)<\/strong>&nbsp;Worksheet (Chow &amp; Miller, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">And we\u2019ve just made a Spreadsheet version of it, so that you can easily eyeball your development and keep track over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">We have the just updated to the last version, v.6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the&nbsp;<strong>Taxonomy of Deliberate Practice Activities (TDPA)<\/strong>&nbsp;Worksheet?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F7b82506a-4aed-4916-8a4a-0789848e3ce4_2636x2134.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F7b82506a-4aed-4916-8a4a-0789848e3ce4_2636x2134.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The TDPA is a tool that guides practitioners in identifying areas for improvement in their work. By rating themselves on various aspects of their practice, practitioners can pinpoint specific areas where they need to focus their efforts. The TDPA encourages practitioners to&nbsp;prioritise&nbsp;<strong>high-leverage<\/strong>&nbsp;areas that are likely to significantly improve outcomes, even if these areas may not be their current weaknesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The TDPA is divided into five main domains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Structure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Hope &amp; Expectancy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Relationship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Client Factors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Therapist Factors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Each domain is further broken down into specific activities that therapists can&nbsp;<strong>rate<\/strong>&nbsp;themselves on a scale of 0 to 10. By identifying the areas where they need the most improvement, therapists can&nbsp;<strong>develop<\/strong>&nbsp;learning objectives and&nbsp;<strong>create<\/strong>&nbsp;a plan for deliberate practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The TDPA also provides space for&nbsp;<strong>notes<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>reflections<\/strong>, which can help therapists track their progress and identify patterns in their practice. By using the TDPA routinely, therapists can&nbsp;<strong>identify<\/strong>&nbsp;areas for improvement,&nbsp;<strong>develop<\/strong>&nbsp;learning objectives, and&nbsp;<strong>create<\/strong>&nbsp;a plan for deliberate practice. This can&nbsp;<strong>lead<\/strong>&nbsp;to improved outcomes for their clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The best part is, you can enlist your clinical supervisor to help also complete the TDPA.
